Safety & Reporting

BitVoices is committed to being a safe and welcoming platform. This page explains how to report harmful content, how the review process works, and what tools are available to manage your experience.

How Reporting Works

Every post, comment, and profile on BitVoices has a built-in report option. Here's what happens when you submit a report:

  1. You submit a report — Select the reason that best describes the issue (e.g., harassment, misinformation, spam, or inappropriate content).
  2. We queue it for review — Your report is logged and prioritized. High-severity reports (e.g., threats, CSAM) are escalated immediately.
  3. Our team reviews it — We evaluate whether the content violates our Community Guidelines. Context matters — we review the full situation, not just the reported content.
  4. Action is taken — If a violation is confirmed, we may remove the content, warn the account, or apply a suspension or ban depending on severity.
  5. We notify you — When possible, we'll let you know the outcome of your report.

Reports are confidential — the reported user will not be told who made the report.

Block

Blocking a user prevents them from seeing your content, following you, or messaging you. They will also disappear from your view — their posts and comments will no longer appear to you.

To block someone, visit their profile and select “Block” from the options menu. You can manage your block list in Settings → Privacy.

Mute

Muting a user hides their content from your feed and notifications without notifying them. Unlike blocking, a muted user can still see and interact with your public content.

Mute is useful when you want to reduce noise without the finality of a block. You can mute or unmute from a user's profile or manage your mute list in Settings → Privacy.

Emergency & Urgent Reports

If you encounter content involving imminent threats of violence or content that may involve the exploitation of minors, please report it immediately using the in-app report tool and also contact your local emergency services.

You can also reach our safety team directly at safety@bitvoices.com.
